Area Guide to Lake Arrowhead and Ossipee Lakefront
The Lake Arrowhead area is a quickly growing community located in the
towns of North Waterboro, and Limerick, Maine. This scenic area offers
boating, kayacking, fishing and swimming. Although not extremely deep at
a maximum depth of 25 feet, the perimeter of the lake is extensive,
offering many sheltered areas for recreation.

Located in York County, with easy access to Portland, the area has a population of just over 3,000 year-round residents. The region is a great place to get that down-home, small-town Maine feeling, while beng surrounded by the beauty of the great outdoors.
In 2012 the median price of a home sold in Limerick was $134,700, while the median price in Woaterboro was slightly higher at $143,000.
Little Ossipee Lake is the foremost natural resource in the town. It is known as one of the cleanest lakes in Maine and is a great spot for swimming, boating and fishing. The lake is includes of brook trout, lake trout, land locked salmon, perch, and bass.
Nearby is Ossipee Mountain, at 1,058 feet. The Ossipee Mountain Trail is maintained for hiking, ATVs and other outdoor adventures. At the crest of the mountain stands an historic fire tower, which is listed on the National Historic Lookout Register.
Good Size Lakes
Both Little Ossipee and Lake Arrowhead are fairly large. Little Ossipee covers 557 acres and has a maximum depth of 74 feet. Lake Arrowhead is 779 acres yet is considerably shalloer with a maximum depth of 25.
