How does 4 + 15 + 24 = 3?  Well, it does – and no special math is required. In a report released this week by WalletHub, Maine was ranked third, among all 50 states, as having the highest overall tax burden.  While this is depressing, it’s not all that surprising.

New York has the highest overall tax burden at 13.04%, while Alaska, at 4.94%, had the lowest. Only New Hampshire (1), Vermont (2) and New Jersey (3) ranked higher than Maine in the property tax burden comparison.  But as Laura highlights in the video, there are many great reason to live in Maine!
