36 Oakmont Drive

Sophisticated Yet Friendly

Falmouth is located just north of Portland on the coast of Maine.  It has a population of approximately 11,000 and covers approximately 32 square miles from the coastline to the rural areas further inland. Falmouth is a vibrant town consisting of a local harbor and Town Landing, indoor and outdoor skating facilities, shopping, golf courses and a medical center and so much more.

The Falmouth school system is ranked as one of the best in the state, providing services for K-12.

Woodlands Country Club

Woodlands Club is Maine’s largest private Country Club.  Located just 10 minutes from Portland, the Woodlands Club offers a world-class championship golf course designed by George and Jim Fazio, year round tennis programs, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a complete fitness facility and recently renovated dining and lounge areas. Although living within the Woodlands Club community, one does not have to 'belong' to the club.

Pleasing Details

A peaceful drive through the Woodlands on winding tree-lined streets leads you to 36 Oakmont Drive - a substantial, sophisticated home with 4 large bedrooms and many places to spread out. The nicely landscaped lawn frames the house in lush perennials and mature trees giving you shade when you need it, yet allowing the back deck to be flooded with sunshine. There are several ways in which to enter the home, including through the garage, but the one I'll bet you choose is the side door which opens to a long mudroom equipped with hooks and closet. And you've got to have a mudroom in Maine!

The first floor has excellent flow, each room leading into the other with a grand entry way at its center. The kitchen is equipped with shiny granite and stainless appliances. The Viking refrigerator is enough to sell me the house! Double wall ovens, a trash compactor and so much cabinet and counter space, which you certainly will have fun filling up, are all in this lovely kitchen centered around an island with a 5 burner GAS stove! While you are cooking you will not miss out on watching the Red Sox as the family room is right there, flowing out of the kitchen. There is an eat-in area as well where while you enjoy your breaky, you can gaze out onto the deck and plan your barbeque for the weekend. If it's a more formal meal your're preparing, serve it in the elegant dining room. If you have talented children, and they play piano, a baby grand fits nicely in the formal living room which is connected to the dining area. They can play some Bach while you entertain your guests and your guests can rant and rave about your talented children. Oh, and, do cozy up to the fireplace in the winter while the kids practice their scales.

A warm, yet spacious office adds to the first floor landscape. It looks out onto the front yard. So, when you're trying to write up that report and are at a loss for words, perhaps the pretty flowers and birdsong will inspire you.

But, before you embark on the day, perhaps a little yoga is in need. There is a 4 season sunroom surrounded by windows that would make a perfect yoga studio, or, perhaps, an artist studio. Or maybe, you just want to make is a sweet den which invites the nature in. Any way you set the room will be perfect.

Take a Look Inside with Laura and Julia

A Generous Second Floor

The hardwood floors that envelope the first floor extend upwards and through the master bedroom. The 4 bedrooms fan out from the large landing with a sense of privacy. The master is a terrific room. With a large en suite - equipped with separate shower and tub, and a water closet - well-organized walk-in closet, and your own deck, this master suite makes it hard for you to leave! The 3 additional bedrooms plus 2 more full baths are all a good size with nice closets and good light. What completes the second floor is the large bonus room. Another wonderful place for the everyone to spread out and relax.

The Piece de Resistance

There are finished basements and there are Finished Basements. And the Finished Basement at 36 Oakmont is to die for! As you descend the stairs you wonder if there will be a doorman checking your ID. This is your very own Speakeasy! The fully equipped bar with several TVs for all the sports events you need that air at the same time, space for 5 or 6 stools, plus space for a cafe table and chairs. It is truly reminiscent of that cozy bar where you fell in love with a stranger or your newly adopted city.

If sports (or whatever is playing on the many TVs) does not strike your fancy, mosey on over to the couch for a showing of your favorite movie. Or, perhaps it's backgammon you'd like to play? Deeper into the room you will find a cozy corner in which to add a couple of chairs and a table for doing just that. But! It's the shuffle board game which will catch your eye. Have you ever played the inside version? I couldn't stop! It's fun, it's unique, it's very cool, and it could convey with the house!

The Total Package

Living in the Woodlands neighborhood is very desirable for many people. Luckily, this elegant home is now available for someone to do so. With so much space for your family to spread out, to entertain, to enjoy life, 36 Oakmont Drive is a treasure. call us for a private showing today.
