West End Lovliness
OPEN HOUSE SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2016
Portland is a unique city that has a small town feel and big city sophistication. Surrounded by water and extending into Casco Bay, Portland offers some of the best water access to islands, historic forts and lighthouses in Maine. The downtown area is well known as a thriving business and cultural center with tasty restaurants and a thriving cultural community. The Western Prom is full of walking neighborhoods, tasty restaurants, and endless parks.
The West End, in particular, is filled with quiet spaces and secret nooks. Close to Waynflete, the Reiche School, and walkable to downtown, the West End is a very desirable place to live. And, with Aurora's cafe around the corner, you can't miss!
Open and Airy
Thomas Street is one of those West End streets that is beautifully tree-lined, quiet, and so close to the wonderful waterfront of Portland. The well-maintained Victorian that is number 51, is solid, well-run, and clean. The condo itself, has two generous bedrooms with bamboo flooring, a living room flooded with the sun from the skylights, and a galley kitchen which is open to the living room. In the kitchen there are granite countertops, newer appliances, and ample cabinetry. There are skylights in the kitchen too! Separating the kitchen from the living areas are two glass block half walls. Unique and quite appealing, they add a lot of character to the condo. There are hardwood floors throughout the condo except the bathroom where there is tile. The bathroom as a tub, separate shower, and is quite large, especially for a condo!
Although there are quite a few closets in this condo, and large ones to boot, there is private, locked storage in the basement for all your kayak, bicycle, and ski storage. Or perhaps its old ephemera and fabric you need to store. Regardless, it's dry and it's yours. There are also two washer/dryer units in the basement in a separate, bright, clean room. They are free! Outside, you will find a very pleasant sitting area and beautiful landscaping. It's quiet back there and perfect for morning coffee and a book
Should there be a parking ban, there is space for your car in the driveway. But only then, according to the deed. There is space, however, and perhaps a chat with the board would allow for permanent usage. There is no guarantee there, just a suggestion of a possibility.
All in all, 51 Thomas Street, is a beautiful, solid condo. The association is strong and the other owners truly care about their space. Call us today for a private showing.
