Digital Photography

Creating the Best Online Experience

One of the most overlooked aspects of real estate marketing is the quality of the photography. Digital photography today is ubiquitous and the technology has advanced to the point that everyone has the ability to snap images and instantly transmit them anywhere. The vast majority of real estate listings are shot with ordinary consumer level cameras that simply cannot overcome the complex lighting and spatial challenges presented when shooting the interior of a home.

Great real estate photography doesn’t simply require a keen eye behind the lens to make properties look beautiful. It also needs to inspire buyers to take action — to visit the property in person – and eventually make an offer.  It is proven that professional photography increases the value of a home and reduces the time on the market.

High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photorahpy

How often have you seen interior photos where windows were nothing more than large white flashes?  Proper lighting, good equipment and the use of High Dynamic Range photography can overcome these problems.  HDR is a technique where multiple pictures are taken of the same image at different exposures and then combined and edited in post processing software.  Techniques include: Tone Mapping, Exposure Fusion and Luminance Masking.

Below are examples of the results that can be achieved:

Using these techniques allows for enhanced views of not only the interior, but the world beyond.

Evoking Emotion

HDR photography is used to more accurately reproduce an image that resembles what is seen by the human eye. Great images can capture more emotion and have much more wow factor than a normal photo. Since it captures a closer representation to what we can actually perceive, it has the ability to make people feel as though they were there – like they can reach out and touch it..
