North Deering Real Estate
Portland Neighborhoods North Deering is home to some of Portland’s oldest and newest homes. A very suburban neighborhood, North Deering is on Portland’s northeastern edge bordering Falmouth. The 48 acre Presumpscot River Preserve, a non-profit urban and land trust is located here and equipped with walking trails, mountain biking trails and canoeing and kayaking possibilities. Interestingly North Deering is home to some of Portland's oldest homes, many spared from the fire that burned much of the city in the 19th century.
Real estate is primarily made up of medium sized (three or four bedroom) to small (studio to two bedroom) single-family homes and townhomes. Most of the residential real estate is owner occupied. The neighborhood features an enviable mix of spacious homes, relatively stable property values and residents that include a wide number of executives, managers and professionals.
