Portland Neighborhoods Riverton is in the northwest corner of Portland. This large neighborhood houses a branch of the Portland Public Library and the Riverton Community Pool plus the 1.5 mile long Riverton Rail Trail. Smaller capes and ranch houses are popular on the tree-lined streets here. Riverside Golf Course, which features the oldest standing men’s golf league in the country, can be found for public play. The terrific Tortilla Flats restaurant is on outer Forest in Riverton.
Riverton real estate is primarily made up of small (studio to two bedroom) to medium sized (three or four bedroom) single-family homes and apartment complexes/high-rise apartments. Most of the residential real estate is occupied by a mixture of owners and renters. Many of the residences in the Riverton neighborhood are established but not old, having been built between 1970 and 1999. A number of residences were also built before 1940.
