Over the last year Facebook has become an important part of our overall marketing plan. As of today we have over 525 fans of our business page, which is of course connected to our website and this blog. We greatly appreciate everyone who participates online with us and other users.

Whether you like Facebook or not, it is hard to simply ignore it. Just the other day the company introduced three new changes that make using it for business much easier, which we have outlined below.

Additionally, if in the past you were frustrated with the initial category you selected for your Page, you can now make changes. This is a big, big improvement.

Some things you can now do with your Page:

  1. Navigate and interact with other areas of Facebook as your Page. You can now like and comment on other Pages as your Page rather than as an individual. You can also arrange your news feeds where you can engage with the latest and most important news from other Pages you like.
  2. There are new opportunities for Pages to share. You can feature photos of your Page’s most recent experiences at the top of your Page. You can also highlight other Pages you are connected with.
  3. Your Page can be a better experience for users. The “Everyone” filter on the Wall provides a new way for people to see the most interesting posts first. There is also a place for people to discover the friends and interests they have common with your Page.

More information about these changes can be found at Facebook Page Upgrades. We encourage you to visit our our Maine Home Connection Fan page and join the community.
