69 Summer Place

A Unique Home with Water Views

Welcome to Summer Place in Portland, Maine.  This intimate community features 19 cottage style homes that are all unique.  Only 5 minutes from downtown Portland and very close to local beaches, parks, shopping and many other amenities, this location is simply perfect.  And of course there are the views!  Not only can you feel the gentle ocean breezes and taste the salt air, you are afforded panoramic views that encompass Casco Bay from Falmouth to Cape Elizabeth.

The Community

As you first drive through the unique community of Summer Place, you see the Gazebo. It sits in the center of this neighborhood and is used by the community. There have been weddings here, parties, cookouts, and gatherings of all sorts. There are not many neighborhoods that gather anymore. Summer Place is one that does.

The Home

Entering 69 SP, you are struck with a decision to make. Do you go downstairs to the access to the pool? Or do you go upstairs to the open concept living space and even further up to the master? Decisions, decisions. Luckily, either direction you take will be the right one! We'll first head upstairs. The kitchen, with its light blue Corian counter tops, numerous built-ins, and huge picture window, is just perfect for gathering. There is a built-in banquet and table, hearkening you back to a simpler time. Sit here with a big cup of tea and have a chat. The pantry has a window in it! Just another sweet character of this home.

What's Inside

The living room is right here as well, centered around a wood burning fireplace. There are sliders off the living area to the ample deck where you can barbeque, bask in the sun, and gaze out on the views of Casco Bay. With so many windows, this whole room area is bright and sunny. There is room for a dining table as well.

The Master

Let's head up a few more stairs to the master bedroom suite. Again, you are struck by the light in this room. More sliders out onto your own, private deck for that cup of joe in the morning. There is a huge, round window in the master. These homes are known for their round windows. Almost all the homes in Summer Place have either a round window or a half round one. The master boasts en suite with double vanity, a large walk-in closet, and a sitting area as well!

One short flight of stairs up brings you to a den or office area equipped with a built-in desk. It is quiet up here and private.

Lower Level

All the way downstairs is two more bedrooms. They are both a great size and have nice closets and bright windows. They share the downstairs with another den area. This room has access to the in-ground pool and I have dubbed it "the tiki room". Many windows brighten this room and it, too, is a nice quiet place to be.

The End

Summer Place is one of those neighborhoods everyone wants to be in. The views, the homes filled with character, and the people. The convenience to Portland can not be beat. 69 Summer Place has so much to offer. Come take a look and see for yourself.
